THE NEW SALEM RECYCLING CONTEST: A BIG HIT!

The City of Salem residents now have the opportunity to obtain a great incentive to recycle more consistently. Northside Carting in addition to Salem City officials have implemented a recycling competition that provides the winning neighborhood with a donated tree planted by the DPW. Recycling rates will be followed in order to award the neighborhood with the highest increased rate of recycling at the end of each quarter. The contest personifies recycling efforts for city residents as each ton of paper is recycled; several trees are saved which in turn result in the planting of new trees throughout the beautiful City of Salem.
