We will make sure all of the employee updates are added including Birthdays, Anniversaries, Family Celebrations, Graduations, Relocations, etc. Also, find this online in the Company News Section of NORTHSIDECARTING.COM
WINTER STORM CHALLENGES NORTHSIDE CARTING
On Sunday December 26th and Monday 27thth, a winter storm hit the North Shore of Massachusetts, dropping 12 plus inches of snow. For safety reasons, this forced Northside Carting to keep all trucks off the road. Missing a day of work and being pressed by the holiday on the upcoming Saturday, many of Northside's employees were faced with the daunting task of completing five days worth of work, in a four day period. Completing this tremendous feat was a daunting task in itself; all the snow severely complicated all operations. Many companies within the industry had pushed all of their work off one day, forcing their employees to work on New Year's Day. Through a combination of long hours and extra effort exhibited the entire Northside team, we were able to bring almost all of our customers up to their regularly scheduled pick up day, allowing the majority of Northside Carting to enjoy the New Years Day holiday.
We would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who worked long and hard throughout the week to help complete this task. Special thanks are due for those of you who sacrificed their New Years Day holiday to come in and clean up the left over stops. This is an example of those special circumstances that when all members of the Northside team work together, we can overcome any difficulty on our way to better service our customers. Thank you again and have a happy and safe 2011.

Thinking back on your time at Northside, what's a fond memory that comes to mind?
It was my first day as a residential driver in Salem, back in 2001. All of us are meeting at the Salem Transfer Station before our route starts. Since it's the day after New Year's Day, it's no more than 10 degrees out. We're all new to the area and eager to get out in the City. To ease us all in, Robbie (Robbie George) gathers us all up to give a pep talk. Some of the lines I remember from that pep talk went like, "…be safe… don't be animals out there…here are some maps, let's get it done! I think back now and I'm the last Salem guy from its original crew and I couldn't be happier still driving a residential route for Northside.
STAY TUNED FOR NEXT MONTH’S EMPLOYEE PROFILE – IT COULD BE YOU!
PRAISE FROM NH DOT
Northside has been servicing the State of New Hampshire's Department of Transportation and recently a letter arrived praising the service they have received. The DOT Business Administrator took time to address their overall satisfaction with the consistent and courteous effort provided by Northside. We would like to congratulate the Northside Team that works diligently on these stops. Great work to you all and keep it up!
RESIDENTIAL REMARK
Recycling Trucks Cleaning up Salem
On the week of January 3rd, we received a call from a Francis Rd resident commending the hard work of the recycling crew that picks up her street. She explained that a few weeks ago on a rainy windy day her recycling bins had gotten tipped over by the extreme wind spilling her paper all over the street. Before she could get a chance to go outside and pick up the mess the recycling truck pulled around the corner and began to clean up the entire mess that had been made. This resident did not get either the driver or laborers names but wanted to make sure that we knew what a terrific job the recycling guys were doing and extend her thanks. The effort to go above and beyond is what makes a difference when choosing between trash and recycling haulers. Good job to whomever the driver and laborer that day in Salem and keep up the good work.
PREVIOUS NEWSLETTER RECAP
We heard a great response from people who read the first edition of our monthly newsletter. We would love to hear more feedback and input going forward. Please make sure to send an e-mail over to Eric Lipsky at elipsky@northsidecarting.com or leave a note with your dispatcher, or even Eric himself at the office.
The newsletter requires new material each month and everyone's additions will provide for an exciting month in review. We appreciate and need any ideas and comments each month.
The Sales Department thanks all employees who've contributed to the Northside Lead Program. The Sales Department will provide feedback on all leads. Please continue all of your efforts!
NEXT EDITION PREVIEW
A few items that will be mentioned in next month's edition:
- A Northside Dog Section – we need EVERYONE'S participation on this one. We would like to display an array of all the Northside dogs. Even if we've never met your dog, please e-mail a picture to Eric Lipsky: elipsky@northsidecarting.com. The obvious dogs such as Jeff's Magnus and Mark's Fred will be featured. Don't let their canines be the only ones in next month's edition.
- We will be highlighting a few names of employees who've provided successful leads through the Northside Employee Lead Program. The names have not been solidified, so please keep providing the leads that will hopefully result in a permanent commercial stop or a high volume roll-off site.
- An update on the Salem Transfer Station will be highlighted. Further campaigning, promotions, and expanded awareness will provide for a hearty update. As always, please maintain your support in effort to provide for the complete upgrade of the Northside operated Salem Transfer Station.
HAPPY 2011 FROM ALL OF US AT NORTHSIDE CARTING!
