Northside Carting was proud to be a part of the City of Salem's Haunted Happenings parade on October 1st. Northside provided two trucks, and the recycling committee, lead by Julie Rose, was able to recruit the Phoenix School to decorate the trucks with a recycling theme. All of the children and parents did a great job in creating one of the most original displays in the entire parade. All of the children's costumes were made out of household recyclable material. This year's decoration theme consisted of the children decorating the truck with animal figures also made entirely out of recyclables. At the end of the night, the recycling float was a huge success.
We would like to give a special thanks to the people from the Phoenix School. This was truly a community event. There were many helpful hands that made this the success that it was. A special thanks to the owners of the school, all of the parents, and last but not least, the stars of the show, the children themselves.
